Sterling approached AtreNet to solve two problems: develop a global interactive strategy and conduct a current interactive assessment of more than a dozen global sites. With the goal of presenting a world-class face to prospects and customers alike, Sterling Commerce worked with AtreNet to develop a Global Interactive Strategy. The resulting strategy outlined a service-oriented architecture, developed in phases, that would facilitate infrastructure sharing and leverage, along with audience maps and content associations to simplify content sharing and maintenance.

"Our online interactive presence needed a global interactive strategy and blueprint to support prospects, customers, and partners engaging with Sterling Commerce through our web sites. AtreNet's experience with enterprise-scale projects, and phased methodology helped us define scope, reach out to stakeholders, and formulate a strategy that complimented our internal technology directions. We now have a blueprint of the architecture, services, and experiences. AtreNet's partnership with us helped us achieve that goal."

- Carolyn Layne, Vice President of Corporate Marketing, Sterling Commerce

"AtreNet demonstrated their expertise and attention to detail through a range of requests for research data. From web metrics, to site search terms, to content keywords and metadata, AtreNet worked with us to develop a "big picture" of site usage and content value and a complete assessment for things in the current offerings to address. Requests were clear, communication was timely, and it was a pleasure to work with them."

- Charles Cihon, Manager of Web Services, Sterling Commerce

The Challenge

  • Sterling's huge web presence needed to be broken down into a series of services
  • With such a great extent of information, Sterling had no succinct way to map information by way of importance

The Solution

  • AtreNet collaborated with Sterling to create a phase progression PowerPoint displaying all components in visually appealing slides
  • We put relevant work into carefully selected clusters, which allowed specific actions to be broken down into sequential phases, thus clearing the way for a the most logical starting point
  • AtreNet's approach allowed Sterling's executives to see specific strategy component dependencies and interrelations.
  • AtreNet conceptualized a multi-year, phased timeline that was included to complete the plan
